Mayor Jun Ynares of Antipolo City emphasized the broad-based support Singson has earned across political divides.
“Despite being rivals, our common denominator is that we will fully support Chavit for senator. Actually, it’s not just us here in Rizal; this support is nationwide. We LGUs are biased toward candidates who run for national office after serving in local government positions. They understand the people’s needs at the grassroots level—they have their feet on the ground and their finger on the pulse of the people.”
Mayor Ynares went on to underscore the value of local governance experience in national leaders, contrasting it with those who aim for higher office without similar backgrounds.
“He’s unlike others who aspire to national positions with zero local experience, which, frankly, seems delusional to me. Maybe only half of them, and that’s saying a lot, actually know what Filipinos need. The other half—well, let’s hope and pray they can apply what they learned in school for the country.” he added in Filipino.
